About
Built for club rugby
GM ASCENT PERFORMANCE was created for adult rugby players who take their training seriously but do not have their own strength and conditioning coach.

The founder
Gary Mitchell
Founder, GM ASCENT PERFORMANCE
I built GM ASCENT PERFORMANCE because too many committed club rugby players are left to work out their own strength and conditioning. They train hard, but without access to the support available in professional environments, it can be difficult to know whether that work actually fits their position, their season and the demands of rugby.
My background spans almost 30 years of playing and coaching rugby alongside a career in the Royal Navy, leadership and healthcare. GM ASCENT brings those experiences together with one objective: give adult club players structured, rugby-specific programming that adapts to the player rather than expecting the player to fit a generic programme.
How the programming works
GM ASCENT uses the information you supply — your position, season phase, training availability, equipment, goals and any relevant restrictions — to build structured, rugby-specific programming.
Your programming changes across the off-season, pre-season and in-season, and the readiness information you record can influence the work prescribed for the day.
It is not simply a static library of generic workouts: the programme is built around you and the season you are in.
