What this service is

GM ASCENT provides general fitness, strength, conditioning and rugby-performance programming and guidance for healthy adult athletes.

What it is not

It is not medical advice, physiotherapy, dietetic or psychological treatment, and it does not diagnose injuries, illness or any medical condition.

Where the app adapts a session around an injury, limitation or readiness score, that is a training modification only — it is not diagnosis, treatment or rehabilitation.

It is not a substitute for emergency care or for advice from a qualified professional who has assessed you.

Training carries risk

Strength training, plyometrics, sprinting, conditioning and rugby involve inherent risk of injury. You are responsible for training within your own capability, technique, experience and current condition, and for choosing loads you can control.

Getting advice and clearance

If you have a medical condition, are recovering from injury or illness, are pregnant or postnatal, or are unsure whether training is appropriate for you, get advice or clearance from a suitably qualified professional before starting or continuing.

If a clinician has given you instructions, follow those ahead of anything shown in the app.

If something feels wrong

Stop exercising and seek appropriate help if you develop chest pain, breathlessness out of proportion to the effort, dizziness, fainting, severe or sudden pain, or any symptom that concerns you. In an emergency, contact emergency services.
